This press-on lower handguard retainer is for the 7.62x39 and .223 Saiga rifles. Installation of this retainer allows your rifle to accept regular unmodified AK lower handguards and cleaning rods. Use of an AK gas tube (See AKGT1), will allow you to use an upper handguard. This is a standard AK retainer modified for the Saiga.

This pic shows the retainer installed. Can be used with AK cleaning rods and AK furniture. Also it's a great way to add U.S. made handguards for one additional compliance part. Install requires you to press the front sight block and gas block off, and to cut the barrel for the locking lever notch. It has the anti-rotation tabs removed so the reliefs do not need to be machined in the sides of the barrel.
