These pics show the gas tube installed. When used with our lower handguard retainer it's a great way to add U.S. made handguards for one additional compliance part. Install/Removal is the same as the factory gas tube. You remove the bolt carrier, release the rear sight block locking lever, remove the tube, insert the new tube, lock the lever, reassemble the rifle.
These accept the rear tensioning spring clip, but may not include one. Just use the one off your factory tube. Pics may not reflect exact geometry.
Vented Top, Non-Vented Bottom
Vented Gas Tubes - The venting is to aid in cooling when running full auto or severe duty. It allows gasses to escape there rather than back through the receiver. Keeps everything a little cleaner and a little cooler. It can dirty up an optic and possibly burn your hand if placed near the vent holes.
Non-Vented Gas Tubes - If you plan to run an optic or have concerns about the gasses venting near the handguard, go with the non-vented.
